Think big (but you must also think poor)

Are social service agencies forced to avoid the tools of success?

Church-connected charity workers live "poor as a churchmouse." Other charities rely on cast-off computers, not business-class technology. It's unseemly for a social service worker to demand a competitive wage. Anti-poverty agencies are kept dependent by the giving standards of the philanthropy industry. No marketing budget. Don't give incentives to program participants. Don't overspend on overhead.
